Rolls-Royce sponsored Avon Scouts to run this activity with My Future My Choice Shipwright and 100 Scouts
Avon Patrols are quickly briefed in two sessions and building work begins with the "Giant Scouts" from Rolls-Royce supporting

Each Patrol sends Scouts to gather information from the Coastguard and Royal National Lifeboat Institution

Information is synthesised and displayed on each patrols boat. Scouts spotted the need to register their boat with the Coastguard before sailing it.

The boats were judged by shipwrights with advice from RNLI and Coastgaurd
Winners receive prizes from the Roll-Royce volunteers

A big thank you to Rolls-Royce from the Avon Scouts was found in Nick's hat
1. Ballast their boat with between 2 and 4 kilograms of very dry sand or similar material
2. Waterproof its hull with acrylic paint
3. Send in pictures of their boat at sea, on a river, or even floating in the bath tub
