A team of STEM Volunteers from Rolls-Royce worked with Year 10 Engineering students on a day project, exploring electric flight using the Rolls-Royce ACCEL project to open up discussion about the advantages and issues for the future of electric power in aviation
Each team of students had a battery and a flight unit and had to design an airframe for a specific function that. This could be altitude, speed, heavy lift or an innovative function they believe will be useful in the future.
Flight tests followed under the scutiny of friends and family.
Thanks to the fab team from Rolls-Royce Bristol and Luara from Rolls-Royce Derby and the ACCEL project.
